Angelo Sartorelli is a guitarist from Verona Italy. He moved to Toronto in 1996. As a classically trained guitarist, he began his studies in Verona with Maestro Cailotto at Scuola di Musica Bignotto. He later studied music theory and classical guitar at Scuola Civica della Musica, with Maestro Adami. Angelo continued his guitar studies, developing an extensive repertoire in Classical, Spanish, Brazilian, and Flamenco guitar genres. Composing original music over 30 years, Angelo felt inspired to compose music since the early stages of his musical career. Travelling through out Europe and specifically Spain and later in Asia, and his many trips to India, has influenced Angelo’s music. The global musical influences have been incorporated into his original classical pieces.
His original compositions and style have been described as "lyrical", "melodic", “beautifully nuanced” and "mesmerizing" by audiences. His mastery of guitar as been described as “exceptional”. Angelo has independently recorded five Albums of original guitar music: His first album of 22 pieces for classical guitar Tarocchi Karmici was inspired by the 22 Major Arcana of the "Tarot cards " and is accompanied by 22 original paintings and pieces of poetry. ln 2OO8 Angelo released the album Angelo's Band, a collection of multitrack recordings composed and played by him. Angelo's third album, Memories, is a solo guitar album, released in 2OlO, inspired by people and experiences in Angelo's life. Dopo iI Calar del Sole (After the Sun Goes Down) was released in 2O13. It includes a piece of contemporary Italian music with lyrics and continues with a series of guitar duets played by Angelo. in 2016 Angelo released a series of guitar solos and duets. Angelo’s next album, Una Grande Avventura, will be released in October 2025.
Angelo continues to play guitar at concerts, private events, and to teach guitar in Toronto.
